What is a Detail Survey?
A detail survey is used to identify and locate improvements and topography that are present on a parcel of land. A detail survey is typically prepared to allow an architect or building designer to prepare a development application “DA” for a new house, units or for an extension to an existing house.
A typical detail survey will include:
- Spot levels and contours.
- Position and floor level of existing house on site.
- Kerb and gutter levels
- Position of visible services (e.g. Telstra pits, power poles, water meters, hydrants and gas meters)
- Position of the neighbouring side wall of adjacent building, including window locations, gutter and ridge heights.
- Trees of significant size upon the site and adjacent sites.
